Positive Affirmations To Change Your Mindset

When life gets stressful, it’s easy for our thoughts to send us down a negative spiral.

We ruminate, playing our negative thoughts on a loop, and then it always seems to feel like the bad gets worse.

While bad things happen and we can’t just ‘positive think’ our way out of any situation, our thoughts DO have the power to shape our reality.

When we repeat certain thoughts, or stories, to ourselves over and over again, they start to become our identity.

It’s true! (and there is the science to back it up).

Let’s say you’ve had the dream of starting a business for the past couple of years, but you have your doubts. You may be telling yourself certain stories about your dream, stories like:

I’m too old to start something new.

I could never be successful at that.
Other people have resources I don’t have.
It’s just not possible for me.

What sort of effect do you think hearing these stories has on your brain, day in, and day out?

That’s right – you don’t start the business. You don’t start because your brain has convinced you that you are not a business owner, that you’re not cut out to be one.

Luckily, I have a fantastic tool and resource that’s personally been instrumental for me in moving through my own limiting beliefs and mental blocks. Enter Positive Affirmations.

An affirmation is a positive mantra or phrase you repeat to yourself in order to change negative or unhelpful thoughts and/or beliefs.

You can use affirmations to change virtually any area of your life: whether that’s relationships, your career, or finances. Any area of your life where you notice you seem to dwell in negativity or allow limiting beliefs to keep you stuck and unhappy.

Below are a few of my current favorite affirmations. For a detailed guide on how to create your own affirmations, check out my Power of Affirmations post here.

How To Use Positive Affirmations

With positive affirmations, the key is to use them regularly. Every day best.

You can try incorporating positive affirmations into your morning routine. Write down your affirmations in a journal or on post-it notes and read them aloud to yourself. It might seem silly at first, but trust me, it works!

Another good way to use affirmations is to use them as visual reminders. Download the e-book below and save the images to your phone, so you can see an affirmation multiple times a day on your phone screen. Or, if you’d prefer, I have a set of inspirational desktop wallpapers so you can start your day with positivity.
