How is your New Year starting out?

Are you following through on your resolutions?

No worry if you have faltered. We all have good intentions but often our new resolutions take a back seat to old habits. You are not alone. 25% of people abandon their new year’s resolutions after one week & 60% after 6 months!

That’s because most of us don’t make lasting changes without being catapulted by some external force such as a health crisis, job loss, or losing an important relationship. Sure we want to make changes but most of us love the safety of our comfort zone even more.

You can achieve success this year. I know you want to make changes and and ultimately squeeze more juice out of your life. Here are five simple strategies to help you reach your 2015 goals.

1. Prioritize

Narrow down your goals to your top three. Go with the ones which resonate strongest with your heart’s desire. When we have too many goals we can’t focus our intentions.

2. Write it down

Putting thoughts down on paper help turn your dreams into actual goals. It sets your dreams in motion.

3. Get specific

Getting healthier is a common goal. But what does getting healthier look like for you? Narrow down lofty goals. “Getting healthier” could include specifics such as sleeping 6-7 hours a night, working out 3-4 days a week for 30 minutes, juicing every morning, or trying a yoga class in January. Success is in the details.

4. Visualize

Visualize your goals every night before you go to bed. Take the time to create a mental mage of what it will feel like when you achieve your goal. Spend those moments imagining all the details of your intended outcome. If you believe it you can achieve it.

5. Review

Set time in your calendar to review your goals. Doing this weekly or monthly helps you stay focused on what’s important. Our circumstances change and occasionally important goals lose their significance. Reviewing your goals regularly can also help keep you motivated when you are being pulled of track.

Most importantly…don’t get discouraged. Everything you desire is yours to have. But you have to move out of that comfort zone for the miracles to happen. Even making one small imperfect step can create a ripple of positive changes. And I know you want that.
